Aesthetic Hierarchy

Where does attractive rank on the hierarchy of aesthetics? And exactly what does it mean? Are some terms more sexual in nature than others? I thought of a few terms that men and women alike use to describe their sentiments about the physicalities of one another:

cute pretty fine attractive okay gorgeous beautiful wifey handsome manly womanly sexy

As you read each term, feel free to rank them in whichever order you deem proper. If you do rank them, explain why certain terms outweight the others.

Awaiting your commentary...

ok...who in the world says 'you look womanly' as a way of complementing your looks? I think thats a term your 85 year old paw- paw from the dirty says...all that to say I will not be putting 'womanly' and 'manly' on my list...as well as wifey. (we are describing looks right?)

ok
1. Gorgeous- perfect in every since of the world (celeb example: Boris Kudjoe)

2. Beautiful- you have the looks and youre nice (thats it) not the brains and dont please dont open your mouth (disclaimer: this is my girl, my nicca, but people think she cant talk for shit...Beyonce)

Now here's where it gets tricky

Pretty and Cute-this is where most girls strive to AT LEAST be. (lol) The ones that fall in this category have it all but more at an approachable level. Kinda like 'the girl next door' vibe (celeb example: Gabrielle Union)

6. Okay- you look iight..the only reason you not ugly is because you have a good personality (celeb example: Jamie Foxx)

Attractive (i think) tends to go more toward how you carry yourself than how you look based on the aesthetic hierarchy. Attractive is one of those words where only the person using it knows what it means to them when describing a particular person. (Celeb example: Denzel Washington...I dont think he's sexy, or fine..but I find him VERY attractive)

And last but not least..Sexy and Fine...I think those words are used when a person has tapped into our sexual frame of mind. You might just wanna fuck, but might not want a relationship Sometimes good. Sometimes bad. (I know readers are going to be like eww but...Celeb example: Lil Weezy...will get the BUSINESS..low key i think he got that work)

Get it? Got it? Good! (sorry so long)

^^ I think what she said is all pretty much true. I don't know if "wifey" is really about looks. I think the hardest one to define is Sexy, because being sexy often goes along with being attractive, fine, and sometimes gorgeous.

I remember a comic using definitions along these lines:

gorgeous- pretty with big boobs
sexy- pretty with long hair
exotic- pretty but non-American
beautiful- pretty with a nice smile

something along those lines...

"Sexy" isn't a word that i use in terms of physicality. Sexy is reserved for intellectual, inner beauty....

For actual physicality.. i prefer "fine"... and "got damn" also summarizes it nicely
